Privacy policy

How SkillTorch handles the personal data you share through this site.

Last updated: on publication. This policy covers SkillTorch's use of this website.

Who we are

SkillTorch provides recruitment services, and is the data controller for the personal data collected through this site. This page explains what we collect, why, and your rights over it.

This site is built and hosted on Redsun, which handles the technology and processes that data on SkillTorch's instructions.

What we collect

• Contact details you share (name, email, phone) when you apply, submit a CV, or get in touch.

• Application and CV content you provide for roles.

• How you use this site: the pages you view, where you click and scroll, how long you spend, whether a form field gave you trouble (never what you typed), how quickly pages loaded, and any errors the site produced. Redsun measures this for us under an anonymous visitor reference kept in your browser; it is never joined to your name, even when you fill in a form, it is not shared with Google, and you can switch it off (see Cookies).

How we use it

We use your data to match you to roles, respond to enquiries, and provide our recruitment services. We do not sell your personal data.

When you apply for a role, software checks your CV and cover letter against the requirements in the job advert, to help us read your application properly and quickly. It makes no decisions about you: a person reads every application, and nothing is rejected automatically.

Lawful basis & retention

We process your data on the basis of legitimate interest and, where required, consent. What you send through this website is deleted from it 24 months after you last registered, applied or contacted us, or 28 days after we decide not to take it further, whichever comes first. Anything we copy into our recruitment database is kept only as long as needed for the purposes above, then deleted or anonymised. Records of how the site was used lose the link to your browser after 100 days and are deleted after 14 months.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, or delete your data, to object to how we use it, or to withdraw consent, at any time. To do so, contact us using the details on our Contact page. To stop the site measuring your visits, you do not need to contact us: see Cookies.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to run the site and, with your consent, Google Analytics cookies. You can decline non-essential cookies.

The site's own measurement keeps an anonymous visitor reference in your browser's storage. It is used only to produce statistics about how the site is used so we can improve it, is never joined to your name, even when you fill in a form, and is shared with no one except Redsun, which runs the measurement for us. In the UK and most other countries it does not ask first, and you can object at any time, free of charge: switch off Site measurement under Manage preferences in the cookie banner, or use the Don't measure my visit button on our Cookie Policy page. Your browser then sends nothing further, and the reference is deleted from it. In the EU and the EEA it runs only if you accept analytics.

If you follow a link we sent you, the site records that you clicked it and which page it opened. If you agree, it also sets one cookie, rs_vid, so we can see which pages you read on that visit and later ones. In the UK, the EU and the EEA the site asks first; elsewhere it sets the cookie when you follow the link. You can withdraw it at any time under Manage preferences.

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected here with a new date above.
