SkillTorch

Cookie Policy

Last updated: November 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how SkillTorch uses cookies and similar technologies on this website. The site is built and hosted on Redsun, which handles the technology on SkillTorch's instructions.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to the website owners.

Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies

These are necessary for the website to function properly. They cannot be disabled.

  • • rs_cookie_consent - Stores your cookie consent preferences
  • • rs_no_measure - Set only if you ask the site not to measure your visit, so it remembers that choice
  • • sb-*-auth-token - Keeps you signed in to the candidate and client areas

Analytics Cookies

Google Analytics measures how visitors use the site so SkillTorch can improve it. These cookies are only set if you opt in — until you accept analytics, Google Analytics runs in a cookieless mode (Google Consent Mode) and no analytics cookies are stored.

Separately from Google, and without a consent prompt, the site itself records how pages are used so SkillTorch can fix what is not working: which pages you view, where you click and how far you scroll, how long you spend, whether a form field gave you trouble (never what you typed), how quickly each page loaded, and any errors the page produced. Redsun measures this on SkillTorch's behalf under an anonymous visitor reference held in your browser's storage. It is used only to produce statistics about how the site is used, is never joined to your name, even when you fill in a form, and is not shared with Google or anyone else. After 100 days the records lose the link to your browser, and after 14 months they are deleted.

In the UK and most other countries this runs without asking, and you can object to it at any time, free of charge: use the button below, or switch off Site measurement under Manage cookie settings. This browser then sends nothing, the references above are deleted from it, and a cookie called rs_no_measure remembers your choice. In the EU and the EEA it runs only if you accept analytics.

  • • _ga, _ga_* - Google Analytics visitor and session measurement
  • • redsun_visitor_id, redsun_session_id - Redsun's own anonymous visitor and visit references for the measurement above, held in browser storage rather than as cookies

Recognition Cookie

If you follow a link SkillTorch sent you from its recruitment system, the site records that you clicked it and which page it opened. That stores nothing on your device. If you agree, the site also sets one first-party cookie recording which contact the visit belongs to, so the consultants you already deal with can see which pages you read, on that visit and later ones.

In the UK, the EU and the EEA the site asks first and sets the cookie only if you say yes; in the EEA it does not record the click until then either. Elsewhere it sets the cookie when you follow the link. You can withdraw it at any time under Manage cookie settings, which deletes it. Visitors who arrive without a tracking link are not recognised; their visits are measured only under the anonymous reference described above.

  • • rs_vid - Opaque contact reference, first-party, 90 days, no personal details stored in the cookie itself

Change or withdraw your consent at any time — it's as easy as giving it.
